Thanks again for joining. 00:51:32 Laurie Anzilotti: We just opened a school in our church. What are the kinds of things the Vestry gets upset about or needs “shadow” meetings for? 00:53:11 Matt Boulter: 2 questions: 1) what are the relative annual budgets for both the FL org & the CA org? 2) At the relative churches, how many clergy are on each staff? 00:54:36 Krista Kutz: I’m curious how volunteer involvement overlaps between the church and the school. Do church members tend to volunteer at the school, or do school parents and staff get involved in church ministries as well? 00:54:37 Alicia Gomes: Our bishop recently mentioned that the thermostat seems to be a contentious issue with any church/school partnership. 00:56:13 Episcopal Parish Network: For those who have to leave us early, thanks for joining today. The conversation will continue a bit longer. Please post questions and comments in the CHAT feature. The workshop is being recorded and will be available in the next day or two. Find more information and register here: https://episcopalparishes.org/2026-annual-conference/ 00:57:44 Krista Kutz: That is so amazing! 01:00:14 Krista Kutz: Volunteering & ministry connects us. 01:01:48 Anne Bandholz: Our church community has noticed a wariness from the school community regarding the church-school relationship. Most likely due to parents with past negative experiences with religion or perhaps due to current events of Christian nationalism seen in the news. Of either of your communities has observed this, do you have any advice for the church community as we make an effort to share who we are as a church and what we stand for when the school families can be quite sensitive to this dynamic? 01:13:41 Mikail McIntosh-Doty: Jennifer, I appreciate your naming of the lack of trust that we are all experiencing. And our school does a great job in helping the parents begin to trust the school and from that is the possibility of trusting the church that supports that school. Financially that isn't really the case for most of us, but as you and Carri have said the church has a lot of other things to do to support, especially when things go badly. 01:16:00 Krista Kutz: Thank you! 01:16:13 Felicia Bullock: Thank you! 01:16:15 Monica Gillespie: Thank you! 01:16:22 Mikail McIntosh-Doty: Thank you! 01:16:24 Erica Corbin: Thank you!
