Already coordinate communication with financial institutions, bursar, and handle preschool tuition. It's creeping up on me. I work part time. My rector would like to add in volunteers for some of the basic office stuff I do to utilize my time better. 00:54:24 Krista Kutz: Are there any tools or tricks that have really saved you time with scheduling or communication, to free up more time for other duties? 00:55:45 Marty Newkirk: Krista, in a previous life used MSP! 00:56:04 Krista Kutz: Love that, Marty! 00:57:03 Bob Henry: usually in state law the officers of a church are considered the junior and senior wardens; they are the ones who sign contracts: they are technically liable - not the priest! so I suggest that they should have oversight of paid and lay staff. that means you need to be aware of state corporate law. 00:57:46 Episcopal Parish Network: Good point, Bob. Thank you. 00:59:25 Episcopal Parish Network: Realm is a popular CRM for parishes. 00:59:41 Erin Sacco Pineda: Church Management Software prices have come down recently -- recommended to look Breeze, Realm, Shelby Amplify 01:00:02 Caroline Abréu: I handle social media, the website, and email communication (weekly newsletter) in addition to bulletins and inserts. I use Mailchimp for the emails, Facebook page and private group, and a private domain for our website. Internally I use a Google Voice number and Office Suite, Adobe. 01:01:03 Maria Lantagne: Our parish is just now starting with Realm. is any one currently using it? 01:01:31 Krista Kutz: These tools are great, we use most of them!Others that are uniquely focused on church ministries and volunteers like Ministry Scheduler Pro can be a great fit for Episcopal parishes. 01:02:28 Caroline VanDeusen: I would be interested in chatting about how your church uses Realm. We use it and I just started in this role so open to learning what others have gleaned. 01:02:56 Episcopal Parish Network: (This is Laura.) We used realm in our parish. I liked it, it handled a lot of information but was not intuitive (for me) in getting that information out into usable reports. Lots of calls to customer support was very helpful. 01:03:15 Maria Lantagne: Caroline we are just starting so I don't have too much to report. it seems very user friendly though. 01:03:17 Krista Kutz: I appreciate seeing Rectors and Clergy include their office hours in the e-signature, so folks new to the parish know their general schedule, and it's great to see clergy using "Auto-Replies" on weekends and days off to set expectations and boundaries when messages come over weekend/in evenigns. 01:03:59 Marty Newkirk: I've used MSP, ACS, Realm, Shelby, and currently Planning Center. 01:04:00 Krista Kutz: Same applies for Admins and any Parish Staff 01:04:05 Episcopal Parish Network: As a reminder, please post questions and comments in the CHAT feature. The panel will get to them as time permits. Thanks again for joining. 01:07:17 Marty Newkirk: Espace is a building/event management tool, very helpful for larger facilities and many events, especially external events. 01:08:28 DeDe Pederson: I'm sure this is posted somewhere, but will this be available to re-watch? I keep getting interrupted. Thanks so much. 01:08:45 KarlaRose Erhard-Hudson: They will email it to attendees 01:11:08 DeDe Pederson: Great - thank you1/ 01:16:29 Caroline Abréu: I am in the Episcopal Communicators group on Facebook, it's been really helpful. 01:17:19 Caroline Abréu: Episcopal Communicators on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/25171477379 01:21:22 KarlaRose Erhard-Hudson: There is a tool called Rite Planning that our church uses. The actual planning part isn't so great, but there are a lot of resources inside it. Does anyone else use this? It does cost money. 01:21:26 Daniel Kline: What are the biggest differences between an Executive Assistant and Parish Administrator? As a parish grows from the Parish Admin only staff to other lay support staff, what are some signs that the parish should make this move? 01:22:08 Brinkley Pound: When are the next webinars in this series? 01:24:03 Caroline Abréu: KarlaRose, we had trimmed down and were only using RiteSong for a couple of years but our new priest wants to go back to the full suite. For a while about a decade ago I used it to format my bulletin liturgy but I've moved past that and it feels unwieldy. I like RiteSong a lot to get hold of music for the choir and stuff. 01:24:06 Marty Newkirk: Use RiteSong for hymns. Venite is a website that also has bulletin planning with the resources. Venite is also sponsored by Forward Movement 01:26:23 Caroline Abréu: LOL... my new priest asked me for a job description when she came and I said, it would be easier to tell you what everyone else does, and if it's not covered by the rector, altar guild, vestry, music director, or preschool director, it's my job. 01:27:04 Tammy RInehart: Desktop software tech question/recommendations. We are a small parish. We've been using Quick books for years. We need to update. We are small enough that it doesn't make financial sense to go with Quickbooks online. They would like to avoid cloud programs if possible. Do you have any suggestions for a program that would allow for simple accounting that would allow for fund accounting, check register, small accounts payable? 01:27:58 Episcopal Parish Network: Laura’s email: Laura@episcopalparishes.org 01:27:59 KarlaRose Erhard-Hudson: What I tend to use Rite Aid for is for the Prayers of the People in the Library, to look up Bible verses quickly, and sometimes for the visuals for the bulletins, but I think one of our supply clergy (she's a very regular supply clergy who subs in often) uses it more. 01:28:11 Tammy RInehart: Great. 01:28:30 Caroline VanDeusen: Could you spell that? 01:28:45 Marty Newkirk: VEnite 01:28:47 Episcopal Parish Network: Venite 01:31:21 Krista Kutz: Thank you so much! 01:31:49 Fay Worrilow: Thank you for all you do! 01:32:34 KarlaRose Erhard-Hudson: Thank you! 01:32:51 Christina Cogar: thank you so much 01:33:04 Caroline VanDeusen: Thank you! 01:33:08 Charlotte Coggins: Thank you all great information. 01:33:13 Gladyce DuBrey: Thank you
